Membership Registration

Are you interested to be a member of the Malaysian Ecotourism Association?

Each member has different reasons to join MEA and they have listed one or more of these reasons - Concerned, Communicate, Collaborate, Cooperate, Connect and Contribute.

The main role of MEA serving the ecotourism industry and players are:

Affirmative public-private-people partnership
Industry members support & networking
Information resources and knowledge base

The work that MEA has undertaken includes:

1) MEA Seminar on Ecotourism for MOTOUR and NRE (2009)

2) World Ecotourism Conference in collaboration with DISCOVERYMICE and UNWTO (2010)

3) Revitalisation of Rural Resources through Sustainable Tourism funded by MOF (MIDA) (2010-2011)

Active Member (Business) One time Entrance RM300 + Yearly Membership Fee - RM200.00 (MYR) Subscription period: 1 year, on: February 1st No automatically recurring payments Business Members have voting rights
“Business Member” shall be a company or firm registered with the Registrar of Companies, Malaysia with its nature of business related to ecotourism.

Active Member (Institution) One time Entrance Fee RM300 + Yearly Membership Fee - RM200.00 (MYR) Subscription period: 1 year, on: February 1st No automatically recurring payments “Institution Member” shall be an agency, organisation or institution registered in Malaysia, other than a company or firm registered with the Registrar of Companies, Malaysia, involved in the field of ecotourism.
Institution members have VOTING RIGHTS

Active Member (Professional) One time Entrance Fee RM200 + Yearly Membership Fee - RM100.00 (MYR) Subscription period: 1 year, on: February 1st No automatically recurring payments “Professional Member” shall be a Malaysian citizen or foreign citizen with academic or professional qualifications or skills relevant to ecotourism, provided that prior approval from the Registrar of Societies, Malaysia or relevant authorities has been obtained for foreign citizens.
Professional Members have VOTING RIGHTS

Associate (Affiliate Member) One time Entrance Fee RM500 + Yearly Membership Fee RM300 - RM300.00 (MYR) Subscription period: 1 year, on: February 1st No automatically recurring payments “Affiliate Member” shall be a foreign agency, organisation or institution related to tourism registered in any foreign country which has a diplomatic link with Malaysia and having obtained prior approval from the Registrar of Societies, Malaysia or any other relevant authorities.
Affiliate Members do not have voting rights

Associate (Sponsor Member) One time Entrance Fee RM5000 + Yearly Membership Fee - RM1,000.00 (MYR) Subscription period: 1 year, on: February 1st No automatically recurring payments “Sponsor Member” shall be any organisation registered in Malaysia or any foreign country which has a diplomatic link with Malaysia, and having paid the pre-requisite sponsor member entrance fees.
Sponsor Members do not have voting rights

Associate (Student Member) One time Entrance Fee RM50 + Yearly Membership Fee - RM50.00 (MYR) Subscription period: 1 year, on: February 1st No automatically recurring payments "Student Member” shall be any registered student with any recognized academic institution.
Student Members do not have voting rights

Associate (Traveller Member) One time Entrance Fee RM100 + Yearly Membership Fee - RM50.00 (MYR) Subscription period: 1 year, on: February 1st No automatically recurring payments “Traveller Member” shall be any member of public with interests in ecotourism.
Traveller Members do not have voting rights
